Connect Instagram to Claude Code and post from it

Short answer: paste npx scorper@latest init into Claude Code, type the code it emails you, say “connect my instagram”, approve in your browser, then tell Claude what to post. Five minutes, no API keys. The same steps work for LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube, and in Codex or Cursor.

Open Claude Code (or Codex, or Cursor)

Any folder is fine. If you do not have Claude Code yet, install it from claude.ai/download. You also need Node.js 18 or newer for the next step.

Paste the one-line install

Type or paste this into the Claude Code chat, or into any terminal:

npx scorper@latest init

It installs the Scorper skills (posting, scheduling, DM automations, dashboard building), adds a prompt hook so Claude knows how to use them, and links this machine to your account with a scoped key. You never see or paste a token.

Sign in with the code from your email

Claude asks for your email and Scorper sends a 6-digit code. Type it into the chat. If the email has no account yet, one is created, no password. Claude then shows you the plans and opens checkout for the one you pick: 7 days free, card needed to start.

Say “connect my instagram”

Claude opens Instagram's approval page in your browser. Make sure the browser is logged into the Instagram account you want to post from, approve, and come back to the chat. Claude confirms the connection.

Instagram's publishing API only works with Business or Creator accounts. Personal accounts need to switch first (free, in the Instagram app under Settings, Account type and tools).

Repeat with “connect my linkedin”, “connect my tiktok”, “connect my x” and “connect my youtube”. Each is one browser approval.

Claude uploads the file, proposes caption options, then reads the exact post back:

Stuck? Common fixes

“npx: command not found”: Install Node.js (LTS) from nodejs.org/en/download, restart the terminal, run the command again.
Claude doesn't know how to post: Run scorper doctor. It checks the skills and the account link and repairs what it can. Then start a fresh Claude Code session so the skills load.
The approval page connected the wrong Instagram: Log into the right account in your browser, then say “reconnect my instagram”. Swapping a slot to a different account twice within 3 days locks posting on that slot for 3 days.
Scorper says the AI connection needs Max: Pro connects your AI to Instagram. Every other social needs Max, Studio or Agency. Say “subscribe” to Scorper in your AI, or upgrade from Settings, Billing in the dashboard.
Platform token expired: Say “reconnect my linkedin” (or whichever platform) and approve again in the browser.
