Comparison

Scorper vs Postiz

Both let an AI agent post to your socials. Postiz is an open-source social media scheduler (AGPL-3.0, about 41,000 GitHub stars) with a hosted cloud plan. It covers 35 platforms, from X and Instagram to Mastodon, Nostr and Dev.to, and every cloud plan includes an MCP server, CLI and API. You can also self-host it for free if you register your own developer apps with each platform. It is the most-starred project in this category by a wide margin.

Pick Postiz if

  • You post to platforms beyond the big five (Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Pinterest, Discord, Mastodon, Dev.to, WordPress and more).
  • You want to self-host and are happy to register your own developer apps with each platform.
  • You need a team workspace with many channels (10 to 100) on one account.
  • You want AI image and video generation bundled in the same tool (Team plan and up).

Pick Scorper if

  • You want an agent-first setup: one command installs the skills into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, no API key, no JSON.
  • You want Instagram comment-to-DM automation included rather than bolted on.
  • You want the agent to read every post back before it fires, by default.
  • You post to Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube and would rather pay one flat price per brand than per channel tier.

Postiz's own stated limits

  • Self-hosting requires registering your own developer app with most platforms.
  • TikTok "upload" mode sends media to the TikTok app's inbox and, per Postiz's docs, TikTok ignores every setting except the title.
  • No built-in confirmation step; the vendor asks you to keep a human in the loop.

How Scorper connects your AI

One line in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI installs the posting skills and links your machine to your account; the Claude apps use an OAuth connector URL. You say “connect my instagram”, approve in the browser, and from then on you post by describing the post. The agent reads it back and publishes when you confirm. Comment-to-DM automations and a carousel generator are in the same account at no extra charge.

Frequently asked questions

Is Postiz free?
Self-hosting Postiz is free under the AGPL-3.0 licence, but you register your own developer apps with each platform. The hosted cloud starts at $29 a month with a 7-day trial. Scorper has no free plan either; it starts with a 7-day trial on every plan, card required.
Does Postiz have an MCP server?
Yes. A hosted MCP with OAuth and an API-key variant, plus a CLI, an agent skill and a REST API, included on every cloud plan.
Which has more platforms?
Postiz, by a lot: 35 against Scorper's 5. If you need Threads, Bluesky, Reddit or Pinterest, Postiz. If you post to Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube, both cover you.
Which is simpler for Claude Code?
Scorper's install is one command with an email code and no API key. Postiz's OAuth MCP command is also one line; its skill route needs a POSTIZ_API_KEY in the environment.
Where do these numbers come from?
Every Postiz figure on this page was read from Postiz's own pricing, MCP and docs pages on 5 November 2026. Scorper's figures are from scorper.ai. Prices change; if you spot one that has, email hello@scorper.ai and we will fix it.
