Post to TikTok from Cursor

Short answer: paste npx scorper@latest init into Cursor, sign in with the code it emails you, say “connect my tiktok”, approve in your browser, then describe the post. Cursor reads it back and publishes to TikTok when you say yes. TikTok is one of five platforms on the same connection, with Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube all set up the same way.

How to connect TikTok to Cursor

  1. 1

Paste the install line in Cursor

Open Cursor's integrated terminal (or ask the Cursor agent to run the command for you) and paste the one-line install. It adds the Scorper skills and links the machine to your account. From then on the Cursor agent can post, schedule and manage automations when you ask it to in chat.

Cursor terminal, or ask the agent to run it
    npx scorper@latest init

Needs Node 18 or newer. scorper doctor confirms the install afterwards.

  2. 2

Sign in with the code from your email

Cursor asks for your email. A 6-digit code arrives, you type it into the chat. No account yet? One is created on the spot, no password. You pick a plan and its 7-day free trial starts at checkout.

  3. 3

    Say “connect my tiktok”

Cursor opens TikTok's approval page in your browser. Log into the right TikTok account first, approve, come back. Cursor confirms the connection.

  4. 4

    Tell it what to post

post the video on my desktop called diethacks.mp4 to instagram and tiktok

Cursor uploads the media, proposes a caption, then reads the whole post back. Say yes and it publishes to TikTok. Say “schedule it for 6pm tomorrow” instead and it queues it.

What you can publish to TikTok from Cursor

Video posts and photo carousels to a connected TikTok account.

TikTok requires the person posting to choose a privacy level, whether comments, Duet and Stitch are allowed, and to confirm TikTok's consent text for every post, so your AI asks you those questions before it publishes; it cannot fill them in for you. Most people connect TikTok alongside Instagram and post the same vertical video to both in one prompt. Say "post diethacks.mp4 to instagram and tiktok" and your AI uploads the file once, writes a caption for each (TikTok captions can be much longer and hashtags matter more there), reads both back and publishes. Scheduling works the same way as any other platform.

TikTok's own rules, which your AI works within

RuleTikTok
VideoMP4 or MOV, vertical 9:16 works best, up to 10 minutes from most accounts.
CaptionUp to 4,000 characters including hashtags.
Photo postsUp to 35 images per photo carousel.
VisibilityThe post's privacy level is set at publish time (public, friends, private).

Prompts that work in Cursor

connect my tiktok
post the video on my desktop called diethacks.mp4 to instagram and tiktok
schedule the clip in ./clips/day3.mp4 for 6pm on tiktok with three hashtags

Scheduling: “schedule this for 9am monday on tiktok”. The calendar: “what's going out this week?”. Moving things: “move friday's post to saturday”. Everything you schedule from Cursor also shows in the dashboard calendar.

Something only Cursor users should know

Cursor users tend to keep a content folder in the workspace (drafts, images, a posting calendar as a markdown table). Because the Scorper skills run against files on disk, "post the top item in posts/queue.md to instagram" works as a prompt, and the agent can update the file after posting.

Your machine holds a scoped key. TikTok's own credentials stay on Scorper's side, and Cursor never sees a platform token.

Honest limits

  • TikTok publishing goes through the official TikTok API, so TikTok's rules above apply. Scorper does not work around them.
  • The AI-agent connection is on every plan. Pro posts to Instagram only. Max ($25 a month), Studio and Agency post to every social.
  • The install needs Node 18 or newer on the machine.
  • Some things are easier in the dashboard than in chat: bulk-editing a month of scheduled posts, for example. Both views share one calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Can Cursor post to TikTok on its own?
Not without a connection. Cursor can write a caption but has no permission to publish. Scorper is that permission: one command installs the posting skills and links your machine to your account, then Cursor can publish and schedule to TikTok through the official API.
Does TikTok posting need a business account?
No. TikTok's publishing works with personal and business accounts. You approve the connection once in your browser.
Can I post the same video to TikTok and Instagram at once?
Yes. Name both platforms in one prompt. The file uploads once and each platform gets its own caption.
Can the Cursor agent post from files in my workspace?
Yes. Point it at the file: "post ./posts/launch.mp4 to instagram with the caption in ./posts/launch.md". Scorper uploads the local media and the agent uses the file contents for the caption. It reads the post back before publishing.
Will it post without asking me?
No. Cursor reads the exact post back (platform, media, caption) and publishes only after you confirm. Scheduled posts are shown before they are queued.
What does posting to TikTok from Cursor cost?
The AI-agent connection is included in Scorper Max ($25 a month, one brand, all five platforms) and Studio ($55 a month, three brands). Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, card needed to start.
