Short answer: add the Scorper connector URL in Claude, sign in, say “connect my youtube”, approve in your browser, then describe the post. Claude reads it back and publishes to YouTube when you say yes. YouTube is one of five platforms on the same connection, with Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube all set up the same way.

How to connect YouTube to Claude

  1. 1

Add the Scorper connector in Claude

The Claude desktop, web and iOS apps cannot run terminal commands, so they connect through Scorper's remote MCP server instead. In Claude, open Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector with the URL below and sign in with your Scorper email when prompted. That is the whole setup. It is a standard OAuth-protected MCP server, so the same URL works in any MCP client that supports OAuth.

  2. 2

    Sign in when Claude asks

Enter your Scorper email, type the code that arrives, done. No account yet? One is created, then you pick a plan and its 7-day free trial starts at checkout.

  3. 3

    Say “connect my youtube”

Claude gives you the YouTube approval link. Log into the right YouTube account in your browser, approve, and come back to the chat.

  4. 4

Attach the media and say where it goes

upload ./exports/episode-12.mp4 to youtube as a short, title and description from notes.md

Attach the photo or video to the chat. Claude proposes a caption, reads the post back and publishes to YouTube after you confirm, or schedules it if you give a time.

What you can publish to YouTube from Claude

Video uploads, including Shorts, with title and description, to a connected YouTube channel.

YouTube is the platform where the metadata does the work. A good prompt names the file and the source for the title and description: "upload episode-12.mp4 to youtube, title and description from notes.md, three tags". Your AI drafts both within YouTube's limits, reads them back, and uploads. Vertical clips under three minutes are treated as Shorts. Local files up to 300 MB (MP4 or MOV) upload through the connection.

YouTube's own rules, which your AI works within

RuleYouTube
TitleUp to 100 characters.
DescriptionUp to 5,000 characters.
ShortsVertical video up to 3 minutes is shown as a Short.
VisibilityPublic, unlisted or private is set at upload time.
TitleThrough Scorper, the first line of your caption becomes the video title, so write that line as a title.
File sizeUp to 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is first.

Prompts that work in the Claude apps

connect my youtube
upload ./exports/episode-12.mp4 to youtube as a short, title and description from notes.md
schedule this video for 4pm thursday on youtube, unlisted

Scheduling: “schedule this for 9am monday on youtube”. The calendar: “what's going out this week?”. Moving things: “move friday's post to saturday”. Everything you schedule from Claude also shows in the dashboard calendar.

Something only Claude users should know

The app connector and the terminal install share one account. Schedule something from the Claude iOS app on the train and it appears in the dashboard calendar and in Claude Code at your desk. Media you want to post from the app is attached to the chat rather than referenced by file path.

Honest limits

  • YouTube publishing goes through the official YouTube API, so YouTube's rules above apply. Scorper does not work around them.
  • The AI-agent connection is on every plan. Pro posts to Instagram only. Max ($25 a month), Studio and Agency post to every social.
  • The Claude app connector needs a Claude plan that supports custom connectors.
  • Some things are easier in the dashboard than in chat: bulk-editing a month of scheduled posts, for example. Both views share one calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude post to YouTube on its own?
Not without a connection. Claude can write a caption but has no permission to publish. Scorper is that permission: one connector URL links the Claude apps to your account, then Claude can publish and schedule to YouTube through the official API.
Can it upload YouTube Shorts?
Yes. A vertical video under three minutes is treated as a Short by YouTube. Ask for it explicitly ("as a short") so the title and description are written for the format.
Can I upload as unlisted or private first?
Yes. Say "unlisted" or "private" in the prompt. You can change visibility later on YouTube.
Does this work in the Claude iPhone app?
Yes. Add the connector once in Claude (it syncs across your Claude devices), then post from the iOS app by attaching the photo or video to the chat and saying where it should go.
Will it post without asking me?
No. Claude reads the exact post back (platform, media, caption) and publishes only after you confirm. Scheduled posts are shown before they are queued.
What does posting to YouTube from Claude cost?
The AI-agent connection is included in Scorper Max ($25 a month, one brand, all five platforms) and Studio ($55 a month, three brands). Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, card needed to start.
